Reading Buddies/Compadres
de Lectura
Volunteers read in their dominant language to participants whose primary language is opposite theirs. Build confidence, sharpen listening skills, boost imagination and vocabulary, and make friends! A complimentary light meal is served before each session. Join an upcoming session!
Witty Writers Workshop
A welcoming, cozy gathering for writers, nonwriters, and in-the-closet writers! Britt Sady, who ran a nonprofit in New York and penned an incredible memoir, facilitates workshop every Tuesday at 6:30. Each witty writer will contribute their work to a published compilation and have the opportunity to participate in a spoken-word performance for our community. Click here to sign up!
¡Divertimos! (Let's Have Fun!) & Divertimos Viajando!!
Drop-in, twice-weekly sessions hosted by native Spanish-speaking activity leaders, featuring games, conversation, culture (Viajando will focus on one country a month!)—todos en español, por supuesto. Dual Language Immersion students can practice their Spanish throughout the school year, and those wanting to learn Spanish are welcome to join and be immersed!
Yoga & Meditation in Spanish

Marcela Pomadoro, who leads our Wednesday ¡Divertimos! sessions, teaches Yoga & meditation in Spanish at a new time: 4:00-4:50 p.m. With her diffuser and essential oils, soothing Spanish music, and interactive flash cards, this class increases you child's overall well-being, reducing stress, aiding in their flexibility, and providing a sense of tranquility to their busy lifestyles, all while learning Spanish. Benny’s Bookclub
​Park City mama Stacey Sutherland and her son, Bennett, share their love of reading, for kids ages 3 to 8, once a month, with an engaging read-aloud and fun book-related activities thereafter. Orton-Gillingham classes with Serena
Serena Mueller, owner of Silver Creek Speech Therapy, continues to offer group reading instruction classes for $5 per child (to cover the cost of supplies) at the Lounge. Sessions are held on Mondays at 3:45 p.m., approximately 35 minutes long, and designed for kids in pre-K or early kindergarten. Serena uses the Orton-Gillingham approach, which is a multisensory phonics technique for children learning how to read, spell, and write.
