Dolores Huerta Elementary mural by Precita Eyes Muralists
In honor of Fairmount Elementary's renaming to Dolores Huerta Elementary, a large mural—spanning the facade of the school's main office and library—came to fruition in May 2019, thanks to the artwork of Precita Eyes Muralists and Dolores Huerta's graduating 5th grade class of 2019. The project included curriculum on the life and work of Dolores Huerta, along with the mural's visual collaboration and painting.
Dolores Huerta Elementary's principal, several School Site Council and PTA board members, and the cofounder of Casey & Charley's Foundation for Dogs and Kids worked closely with the artists at Precita Eyes in the creation of this stunning piece of artwork. C&C's also lended financial support to the mural.
Dolores Huerta Elementary is a dual-language Spanish-immersion school in San Francisco, serving almost 400 students.
Emergency Local Grant
Casey & Charley's Foundation for Dogs and Kids is committed to helping improve our community's health and well-being by providing up to $6,500 yearly in Medical Emergency and Distress grants, to residents in both Park City and the San Francisco Bay Area.
