OUR PROGRAMS

At Lectura Lounge, we offer a wide variety of programs dedicated to literacy, multilingualism, and community-building. All of our offerings are free to the community.
Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies

Volunteers read in their dominant language to participants whose primary language is opposite theirs. Build confidence, sharpen listening skills, boost imagination and vocabulary, and make friends! A complimentary light meal is served before each session. Join an upcoming session!

Witty Writers

A welcoming, cozy gathering for writers, nonwriters, and in-the-closet writers! An award-winning local author and a youth writer for Neighbors of Park City and Neighbors of Heber Valley magazines will facilitate each workshop, with 2-3 guest speakers enlisted for each 6-week session. Each witty writer will contribute their work to a published compilation and have the opportunity to participate in a spoken-word performance for our community. Click here to sign up!

¡Divertimos!

Drop-in, twice-weekly sessions hosted by native Spanish-speaking activity leaders, featuring Spanish games, conversation, podcasts, and movies—todos en español, por supuesto. Dual Language Immersion students can practice their Spanish throughout the school year, and those wanting to learn Spanish are welcome to join and be immersed!

Homeschooler Huddle

The Lounge hosts storytime and games—sometimes in Spanish—for our local homeschool network, followed by healthy nibbles and free hugs!

Benny’s Bookclub

Park City mama Stacey Sutherland and her son, Bennett, will be sharing their love of reading, for kids ages 3 to 8, starting with The Kingdom of Wrenly: The Lost Stone by Jordan Quinn, along with a fun activity after each session. If you're interested in starting your own book club at the Lounge, shoot us a note at info@caseyandcharleys.org.

Junior Ambassadors

Our first junior representatives, Greta Filippone and Mara Barth, recently sorted and categorized dozens of book donations at the Lounge and will be helping with outreach and marketing, as well as sharpening up their leadership skills via opportunities to run some of the Lounge’s program sessions.
